Polar Analogue Science Program
A UAE–Chile Field Science Experience (Launching 2026)
Orbital Space × MARTEENS
MAP² Explorers: A UAE–Chile Field Science Program
MAP² Explorers is a polar–desert analogue science program linking UAE desert environments with Chile’s polar regions.
The program uses extreme Earth environments as platforms to explore climate systems, environmental change, and planetary-analogue science relevant to future space missions.

Designed for high-school and undergraduate students, MAP² brings learners into real field science, data collection, and comparative environmental research.
What Participants Do

Join analogue field missions in the UAE and Chile.

Collect, observe, and analyze environmental datasets (soil, microclimate, ice, terrain, albedo, etc.).

Work in mixed international teams with mentors from Orbital Space, MARTEENS, and partner institutions.

Produce short scientific outputs that may support future orbital and lunar missions.
Program Structure

Home Phase (UAE / Chile)
Weekend fieldwork, online assignments, and mentor-led project development. -
Joint Analogue Campaign (UAE–Chile)
A shared field mission where teams work together on comparative polar–desert science questions. -
Capstone Phase
Optional extended projects, research posters, or continued involvement with Orbital Space mission pathways.
